GPL is a distribution license. It only applies if you distribute GPL based software. This would require you to distribute Plone + add-on combination in some form. Installing it on the server is not distribution. If you distribute add-on code WITHOUT Plone you can license it anyhow you wish as you are not distributing any pieces from the code. Unless you count imports from Plone namespace as "copyright work". That is up to court to decide whether import falls under the threshold of orignality and count as the remix of the orginal work. I assume the existence of precedent cases vary country by country, but generally GPL has not been court tested. -Mikko http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Threshold_of_originality > > Wichert. > > -- > Wichert Akkerman <[email protected]> It is simple to make things. > http://www.wiggy.net/ It is hard to make things simple. > > _______________________________________________ > Product-Developers mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.plone.org/mailman/listinfo/product-developers > -- Mikko Ohtamaa Managing director, Red Innovation Ltd. +358 40 743 9707 www.redinnovation.com Every problem is solvable if you can throw enough energy drinks at it _______________________________________________ Product-Developers mailing list [email protected] http://lists.plone.org/mailman/listinfo/product-developers
