The message was added at the no-fun bbq sprint as a way to warn newcomers away from using a raw buildout to install Plone. It is a fact that the most-approved, most-supported method for installing Plone is to use one of the installers. Buildouts work best for development environments or for when you've gotten enough buildout-foo to step out on your own.
There has been a relatively stiff debate about how to word this warning, but in the interests of keeping zopeskel a tool with a friendly newby face, I think the warning should remain. If anyone has suggestions of better/more friendly ways to say it, I'd be happy to hear them, or incorporate them if you have the desire to make the changes yourself. -- View this message in context: http://plone.293351.n2.nabble.com/ZopeSkel-plone4-buildout-and-deprecation-warning-tp6046743p6053573.html Sent from the Product Developers mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Product-Developers mailing list [email protected] https://lists.plone.org/mailman/listinfo/product-developers
