The glass you can buy today is much better at cutting back the radiant
energy then what was available in the 70's.  I'd look for the dual pane
beauties that are available.  You can test them out with a strong
flashlight and a radiometer at the store.

them out before installing in that setting.  You want to block as much
inbound radiation at a price you can afford.

I am not a fan of tinted windows myself.  I was talking to someone whose
office is on the south side of our building, and they are now depressed
that the building put in window film on her windows.  She said it is
depressing.
