Good Day! I came across an article re: the Comodo software firewall (free), which got excellent marks as compared to other free and fee based solutions. On their wite (www.comodo.com) they offer a free AntiVirus applicaiton that looks like it may actually be pretty decent - free. It may be worth a look as an AVG replacement. As an aside, when reading a fairly recent article where AVG was stacked up against the likes of Nortaon/Symantec, McAfee, Trend Micro, etc., AVG was rated as only 80% in either its detection and/or ability to clean infections. I know I have heard folks tell me they have never gotten a virus when using AVG, as compared to Symantec or some other solution. But how would a person know (other than obvious misbehavior) if the solution they are using is not actually providing the level of protection needed to catch the threat(s) to begin with? Hmmm... "AVG is not catching any problems, therefore there aren't any problems..."
Anyway, for what it is worth, it looks like Comodo has some nice offerings for folks looking for a low/no cost solution.
