Unique is one of a kind. How can you make yourself *REALLY* one of a kind?
I meant "truly unique" instead of the claims of business owners deluding themselves into thinking they are unique. Every one of my clients believes his business is fundamentally different than anyone else. It's not. Fundamentals are fundamentals. If their accounting is unique, they're likely the next Enron. They may strive to provide better service, be more responsive, offer a greater range of services or inventory or choices, but the fundamentals of the business are similar. I had a great meeting a few years ago with a well-known Boston retailer who insisted they wanted a custom CRM, order processing, inventory and G/L, complex and secure MAN networking, and mobile connectivity. We explained that they could have all of that off the shelf. Or, we could write it for them, at a higher cost, lower functionality and a later delivery time. It was a hard sell. -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox@leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
