Hi Kris!
The crucifixion of Christ was a special case. It set the stage for the
RESURRECTION which was the real point of Jesus's coming. The
resurrection is something no person in his/her right mind can gloss over
or ignore.
In order for the resurrection to mean anything, Jesus had to not only be
dead, he had to be stupendously, redundantly and obviously dead. Dead
with a capital D. Otherwise, some people would think it was just a trick.
