Tristan, Sorry I see what you "say" is happening but my two controls on the same page one based on a container and one on a control just function identically

It's a bit of a silly one, but I wanted try and use the control baseclass (instead of the container). It's hard to explain... If you run the form, you can see it is just like a list control apart from a few things that aren't quite right. You should be able to slect an item and then it will highlight. If you then browse control.vcx and search and change container to control. Rerun the form and now the highlighting doesn't work. This is the part that I do not understand. Aren't containers and controls exactly the same except with a control you cannot access the child objects from outside the control. This is starting to make no sense to me! lol Tristan -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dave Crozier Posted At: 12 July 2006 16:17 Posted To: Profox Archive Conversation: Control & Container Objects Subject: RE: Control & Container Objects Tristan, What exactly is the problem you want to solve? I've loaded it up but don't know really what I'm looking at or for. Any ideas? Oh, if you have any comments about the control itself, let me know! I like to hear how bad my coding is! <G> Tristan -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tracy Pearson Posted At: 12 July 2006 15:04 Posted To: Profox Archive Conversation: Control & Container Objects Subject: RE: Control & Container Objects The form you put the control object onto can not get into the control to see objects. Objects within the control object should be able to see other objects in the control object without a problem. No matter. Can objects reference other objects within side the control? I think this maybe what is mucking up the code.
