When I first got cable (in 1980) I stayed up for days and nights
watching everything. Did that for a month. Then I ran out of things to
watch. It has been downhill since then. The novelty wears off and we
are left with the 21st century mantra "525 stations and nothing to
watch."

Of course if you are into sports, it is a totally different situation.
And now that broadband is available, I would NEVER dump my cable. I
don't think satellite is ready for 2-way.

In any event, my advice is to try cable (no major commitment or
expense). Get to know what's out there. If you like the cable, fine.
If not, cancel it and go with SAT.

Subject: [OT] Cable or satellite?

While at a hotel this week, I've been watching HBO and laughing my ass
off! This week, I move into my own place in Michigan. Now comes the TV
entertainment question: cable or satellite? Which do you find works
best for you?
