What I find surprising is that no-one has called for an immediate ceasefire. And when key politicians are asked why, they give excuses that they need to draft a 'sustainable ceasefire'. I don't see why you can't ask for an immediate ceasefire, while you are working on your long term negotiations. It could take days/weeks to draft a ceasefire that satisfies both sides. In the meantime, each side continues to both the hell out of the other, with more loss of innocent life.
Condi, Bush, Blair et al are all weak to do the right thing. We need politicians who have backbones, and are not afraid to do what is right, even if it means upsetting a few people along the way.
