I find it funny how we all consider the automobile industry as a key
here and in reality their level of improvement when graphed out over
time is pretty pathetic when compared to computer hardware.

Every 3 years there is a new breed of chip that can out perform the last
round in the form or double or squared.  When automotive giants across
the globe still can't squeeze more then 10% for performance gains
across the past 10 years.


So Honda standards are what, "Don't fix it if it's not broken."  Or was
it along the lines of "Mr. Lee has a better engine standard that will
achieve 2X the current fuel efficiency, but we are getting so much coin
from the Oil companies just shot the poor bastard Lee."?

Automotive companies have to change the looks of the cars because under
it's skin not much has changed in 15.
