To All,
Havin had some problems over the last few days with Visual Sourcesafe which
resulted in be resorting to security copies as opposed to the previous
version(s) of files that I thought were safe, I've been reading some
comments in the Coding Horror Blog at:

linking to a few articles about the various types of Source Control
available. It is well worth a read for those of you who either DON'T use
source control or who are looking at an alternative to VSS.

Source control is a little like backups. Not important until you need the
facility and a disaster if it doesn't work the first time you really need
it.

Up to this point I've never had a problem with VSS but this time the
Databases of changes became corrupt and(this must have happened some time
ago) and only came to notice when I wanted to go back to a previous version
of a project from 4 months ago. Hence the resort to good old backups as the
error in the database had just perpetuated itself.
