Much ado about nothing. It was a users' meeting, not a shareholders' meeting.
I think it may have been a bit overblown, but I agree with the theme: HP is in the middle of a great big flap now. They have likely broken the law and certainly infringed on the privacy of their own board, employees, members of the press and their families. It's not clear that upper management knew the extent to which hired thugs attempted to install keyboard loggers on journalists machine and other questionable practices, but the board has been lukewarm about condemning the practices. If it was just an overzealous contractor who thought he could play Spy vs. Spy, it's one thing. If it was authorized by upper management it's another. It's become another little tawdry "who knew what and when" cover-up. To put on a little skit claiming to be responding to the audience, who only wanted to know when the lot of them would resign, was disrespectful. It was just a users meeting. At the shareholder's meetings, I expect to see serious consideration that the board step aside. -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
