It's actually someone else's SP who are talking to our app. It does an OPENQUERY as part of a UPDATE statement. Testing under SQL 2005 I can add a named linked server using the VFP OLEDB driver via the admin console, and sucessfully retrieve data, is that not a valid approach? -- Alan Bourke [EMAIL PROTECTED]
