Hard as it is to believe, Windows has a feature called "Screen Bad
TLDs" because, of course, Microsoft knows more about what kind of Top
Level Domains should and shouldn't be allowed than you do. A suggested
workaround can be found here:

I see some MSKB articles suggesting this problem occurs with FQDNs
that are numeric so it may not be the issue.
