Hi Everybody, A couple of alternative pigment persons accosted a white food recipient at the Church of the Palms food bank today in Sarasota. I walked in to get my food in the middle of it. I was ready to call the law but they reluctantly de-escalated after the 80ish volunteer at the window asked them to leave.
Something about how the white woman got more food than they did. The amount of food is established by a central Social Work agency the day before you go in, not the Church - everybody knows it but the boogie people often try to bs their way into getting more by intimidating the volunteers. In the inner city the volunteers are hip to the ploy, but Church of the Palms is in a nice neighborhood. I guess some of the volunteers give in, thus rewarding bad behavior. Today the volunteer lady stood her ground. The boogies left in a Lexus with two Obama stickers. The were given what food they had signed up for. The best way to get more is to ask nice, you call the day before to the central agency. If you tell the central agency you have company they will put you on the list for extra. The same volunteer lady who stood up to these two will give you extra on the spot if you ask nice, regardless of who you are.
