Hi Stephen, No sane politician would even think of taking away guns in America let alone say it, the Ds are even abandoning that shtick, except for hard core nut cases such as Holder, Feinstein, Schumer or Obama. The hard core cases are not joking, but no one else would dare. They are all in safe places to do what they do. Most pols are not safe for this. People would never forgive and never forget. Not something to be joked about, that's for sure. Political suicide in most districts, but it wouldn't be crying - it would be organizing. Suppose someone took to joking about changing the first to include "except churches that have some concept of "Eucharist" shall be prohibited?" I am not sure it was funny, or even decent, for Jimmy Kimmel to suggest that, and amazing that any parents would actually do it.
