Were using a Netgear Networked Attached Storage server which uses Linux as its 
operating system.   Has worked out REMARKABLY well although isn't as fast as a 
full-blown server.    I've not had problems with locked records up til now.  

I think I know why it's crashing, but it still shouldn't maintain a lock once 
its shut down.  Perhaps the executable is not fully closing and remains in the 
task list.  i'll check that.

Aside from that in general you need SP1 on the Win 7 machines and Server
2008 too if the data is on that. I find there is no need to touch
OpLocks theese days, in fact there's no point if SMB2 is in use as it
would be with the OSes above.
