In defense, if it need be defended, of "King Arthur's" wise observation
that "Revenge is the most worthless of causes", the Amish response to
their tragedy provides a plain example that our rulers and their
puppeteers ignore at our peril.

We can't spit without another "news" mention of the Christian "religious
right" and the dangers of that group's thinking. They sound dangerous to
me too, but the truth is that I don't know any of them. The people I do
know, if asked to choose between the "religious right" and the Amish
approach will, on contemplation, side with the latter.

I added 'contemplation' because that's the very thing the "news" has
sapped people of. You do recall the trump-up leading to the invasion of
Iraq, right? How about the trump up now over Iran and Korea? Are you
caught up in it? Do you really believe in the "never forget, never
forgive" attitude?

Justice and revenge are two very different words. Maybe the Amish know
the difference, but Washington surely doesn't.

"LANCASTER, Pa. - The wife of a gunman who killed five girls and injured
five others at an Amish school released a statement thanking the Amish
and others in the Lancaster County community for their "forgiveness,
grace and mercy."
