Before PowerPoint people used to use a simple word processor and printed on 
overhead slides.   Now people pack all kinds of windows, video, music, flying 
words, backgrounds, and nobody listens to the presenter.

When I used to do work for the Army, my boss would constantly make me cram more 
and more into each slide, utilizing the "more is better" theory.   I swear to 
you that most of the people in the audience had no idea what we were talking 
about because they just assumed people knew what the acronyms meant.
