Is the crash logging anything in the system or application logs? I would take a look at this article (http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2007/05/29/basic-debugging-of-an-application-crash.aspx) about using the Windows debugging tools and work from there. This approach has helped me track down a similar issue in the past.
