They did more than that. Various members of the fox team spent time with the
VS data team. YAG was over the data team for a while and I think Calvin is
there now.

I have heard that they have asked various fox people what .NET needed.
People like Rick and Marcus come to mind.  M$ wasn't that stupid to ignore
leaders in what was the fox, access, and vb arenas.
