Hi Dan, You've been lucky. The issues I referenced can affect VFP, Access, FMP and so on. MS introduced changes to the SMB protocol in versions of Windows since Vista; desktop & server. There are different patches and registry changes that can restore stability. It seems to revolve around the OS making (bad) decisions on when data is written to disk for shared files like indexes. At least that's my simplified understanding. Perhaps Christof will chime in at some point with the real technical explanation. :-)
