Tabstops were "macros" for manual and electric typewriters to put the correct number of SPACES on the page for columnar output. When the tab key was pressed, only spaces remained in its wake. Whitespace is added to code to make it easier for the next coder to read the code. She shouldn't need to have external knowledge of how many spaces you think a tab translates into. Why would you have two characters, TAB and SPACE, to serve the same purpose? CHR(09), ASCII Horizontal Tabs have no more place in code that Vertical Tabs or ShiftIn-ShiftOut characters. In my humble opinion, of course ;) You'll fit right in here.
