I have heard over the years that the algorithms have been cracked.  But I do
not know where such software exists.  For folks that have various M$ apps
installed on a machine, and wish to migrate to a different PC, I use
Belarc's tool to fetch the current codes for a subsequent installation on
the new target PC, providing the owner of the new PC has the original
installation media.  If there is no evidence of previous proper licensing I
do not "handle it" as a favor.  I recommend OpenOffice and Outlook Express
instead <g>...  Not my problem if someone loses their codes, mine are all in
use and licensed properly (pre-MSDN days).
