That's good to know, Peter. Thanks!

What is odd is that the data is not all that odd...just a few small fields of less than 50 characters, 8.5 x 11" page, 12 point type. I've looked through the data that would have been printed if the print job had not failed and there's just nothing there (like large memo fields of text or graphics) that would cause this error to be thrown.

And what makes it extra frustrating is that you can exit and restart the application and the second print attempt will run perfectly, as it should.
It sounds like the printer is being set to landscape before the problem occurs. Think you said in another reply that you clear out the contents of the memo fields in the report. Therefore the layout does not know it should be printed portrait and may well take the settings from the last print (which could be a landscape label maybe?). I would do some testing of those scenarios. Print portrait, then landcape and then portrait etc. When you get an error have a look at the contents of the EXPR memo or just open the layout and have a look at page setup then printer setup to see what it is set to (portrait/landscape). If you can't do that on site or remotely, you could get your app to write out the contents of EXPR to a text file just before printing, then examine later.

In my app I clear out the contents of the memo and replace them with the correct settings for the printer they should go to. Not had this kind of error since doing that.

Peter
