Hi all. Some recent mails about deporting USA's illegal foreigners got me thinking. But not being 'USArian' (I AM American) I wouldn't know if my reasoning is sound. As I understand it, illegal foreigners are not paid proper salaries, besides taxes over their contract are also evaded. Now, if all illegal foreigners left USA the people who hire them would have to hire USA citizens. They would have to pay higher prices for the same labour or less (don't forget they call them wetbacks because they sweat their asses working), besides paying the proper taxes and added costs due to increased paperwork etc. And a businessman will NEVER absorb that extra cost, it will go straight through to the customer thereby generating inflation. Things will get more expensive and whatever you earn now (I read some earn as little as U$ 10.-) will account for less. And if to be absolutely coherent you bring back your industries, the thing will get worse. You won't be able to pay a pair of Adidas what they cost now because Adidas (yes, I know it's a German firm) will be forced to charge you the difference between the labor costs of a 10 year old Burmese child and a 30 y.o. USA worker. Have you considered that? Am I missing something?
