I knew a couple of Legionnaires who would disagree. One of them was applying to the Legion in 77. He was an ex USA green beret sarge. He said he was fed up with ... can't remember his name now, president of USA, Democrat, farmer.... well, anyway he was fed up with his foreign politics and was trying to get into the Legion. Another was a 'Caporal Chef', 14 years of Legion and about to retire. Said he had served 5 years in San Quintin.
