Sounds like a prime candidate for a report listener. << I can't say I'm impressed with too many of the improvements so far-- or at least not the understandability of them)
I'm surprised. The VFP Report Writer is now so good that the reasons to use a third party tool (such as Crystal Reports) are obsolete. The Report Listener alone is utterly fantastic, giving you the ability to change practically every aspect of a report before it is rendered. You can even create graphs and charts using your VFP report, without resorting to a single ActiveX control and add-on, but by simply creating the appropriate Report Listener. We have a need to conditionally make a report value bold. We have about 100 fields that might be bold. In the past, we've done a work-around that I hate of duplicating all the fields-- one for normal, and one for bold, and putting the appropriate condition/not condition in the print when's of each. Is there any better way to do this, particularly with VFP9's supposedly-better report designer(I can't say I'm impressed with too many of the improvements so far-- or at least not the understandability of them). TIA for any advice. -- Derek _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox@leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
