Thanks for the various replies.
His site has gone for a makeover. There seems no mention on the home page
about blogs now. For a minute I thought he had kicked them. And as all the
searches for the issue I had pointed to his site it was a bit of a problem.
In case anyone has the same problem, I will repeat the cure
I have a web service which is a C# service calling a VFP dll. The dll uses
the vfpencryption71 fll and the problem was it being invalid. Upto now I
believed that to overcome this, the 2 vc++ dll's should be in the same
directory. However in this case putting them in the system32 directory was
the right choice. Odd as with an exe it seems that didn't work and the only
was putting them in with the exe. Anyway there is my answer in case anyone
is using vfpencryption71.fll from a vfp dll on a web service.
