This all puts me in mind of the days when hard drives were a high-end
option, operating systems weren't standardized, and software had to fit on
the most restrictive machine's floppy. (The TI-99 for what I was doing.)
There was less than 100K to work with. Megabytes? Incomprehensible luxury.
