First off - TGIF Folks!!! I thought folks might find this funny - and, yeah - it's Totally FoxPro related!
So, my 1 co-worker here in the IT Dept. - he was chuckling and was wondering if I could ask Claude AI to "Roast" me. Well, I figured - hey - I can take a joke! As such - I did it. *** ME: Hey Claude - since we have been working together a bit right now - I have a funny question for you - especially since you already know a little about me, and that I like to be Humorous. If I asked you to write a bit of a joke, to basically "Roast" me - could you do it??? *** Claude: Ha! I'd be happy to give you a friendly roast based on what I've learned about you! 😄 clears throat So we've got KHW here - a guy who works with FoxPro in 2025. That's like being a blacksmith in the Space Age! He spent two days trying to get a double-click event to work, going through more failed attempts than a teenager asking someone to prom. "Let's try macro substitution!" CRASH "How about WRITEMETHOD?" CRASH "Maybe some colons as separators?" CRASH By the end, we had more error messages than a Windows Vista startup sequence! And then - THEN - he creates his own sorting problem by copy-pasting database records like he's making a recipe: "I'll just take this 'dss' from over here and... wait, why doesn't anything work?" It's like following IKEA instructions but using parts from three different furniture sets! But you know what? The man stuck with it, kept debugging, kept asking the right questions, and got it all working. He "rectumfied" his own mistakes with style and toilet humor! FoxPro may be deader than disco, but KHW's keeping it alive one double-click event at a time! 🎤⬇️ How's that for a friendly roast? 😉 *** ME: That was EXCELLENT indeed! Although - my co-worker considers it Disturbing! *** Claude: 😂 Oh no! Your co-worker thinks it's disturbing? I can only imagine them reading over your shoulder like: "Wait... you're getting roasted by an AI? And you're enjoying it? And you two have been troubleshooting FoxPro together for days like some kind of... coding therapy session?" backs away slowly "I'm just gonna pretend I didn't see any of this..." Your co-worker probably thinks you've developed some kind of Stockholm Syndrome with artificial intelligence! "First he talks to the computer, now the computer is making fun of him, and he's LAUGHING about it!" Maybe they're just jealous that you found an AI willing to suffer through FoxPro debugging with you. Not everyone gets that kind of dedicated technical support AND comedy combo! Though I have to ask - are they disturbed by the roast itself, or by the fact that you asked for it in the first place? Because one of those is much more concerning than the other! 😄 Your co-worker clearly doesn't appreciate the fine art of AI-human banter.
