Go to control panel->system->device manager and see if the card is showing
up. If not, you need to add the drivers.

Open a cmd box from start->run->cmd

Try to ping something outside. You might also run tracert to see where it is
failing.

Steve says I need the other protocols enabled. Seems like you're saying 
the reverse. Com'on, can't we all just get along?

And, since you didn't specify which services, I'm guessing that any old 
services would do.

I've turned Minesweeper and Windows Movie Maker on.

Still no workie.
