Don't you think that's a bit simple? First of all, it is not just the voters. The people who do not vote are just as culpable, perhaps moreso. But once a politician is elected, there is no direct control over what he does. There are no interim elections, no votes of confidence. So the fellow has a bit of leeway. Remember, we do not live in a democracy, we live in a republic. => If we don't like the way they are running things, we vote => them out, pure and simple. => Because of the fact that we havent voted them out, that => makes me believe that they are doing what we want them too. I did not vote for Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell, Roberts, Bolton, etc. Not because I did not want to but because I could not. They are all appointed. And the natural thing for them to do is follow the person who appointed them, not the electorate. => Now as to human rights, you have a muslim extremist incharge => of iran who deny's that a holcaust happened. => You have muslim extremists in afghanistan who are willing => and want to chop your head off if you don't grow a beard. => There are many others who have publicly gone on tv and said => that they will destroy us and our way of life. So these people have no human rights. Which is what I said. And you said that unless we do what we are doing in Iraq, these people will lose their rights. But they have no rights, so they have nothing to lose. I am lost, Virgil. There is another thread here about hell. Personally, I would like to stem the flow of our young men and women into heaven.
