"Revealed: Israel plans nuclear strike on Iran" http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2089-2535310,00.html
"That's scary, if it means that Bush -- presumably on the advice of the Neocon-in-Chief, Vice President Dick Cheney -- has decided to launch a major push, Kagan-style, for victory in Iraq." http://www.tomdispatch.com/index.mhtml?pid=153798 Since we're approaching some rather large moments of truth, I thought I'd ask a question. Which is the fundamental solution to terror? (a) Love (b) Hate The up side of (a) has been described by writers, poets and artists through history in ways not available to my lesser intellect. The down side is that to love, one becomes vulnerable. The up side of (b) isn't really clear at all, but the down side is that to be an ever greater terror, one has to live with never-ending fear and paranoia; not to mention the "when you live by the gun, you die by the gun" syndrome. Given the circumstances of today, and the way things are headed, I think we really need to examine this question. It's clear what our rulers want to do, but is that what *we* want to do? I think that, when all is said and done, the average person - anywhere - will go with (a). But if this is the case, then we surely need to start communicating it, because time and events are working against us. If the ME war expands, it will set it motion still more events that we really don't want to happen. If instead we put an end to it and turn our attention to the real scourges of the world, we'll at least have a chance to recover.
