        Oh yes there is. It is one of the most strongly supported theories  
in science experimentally, but one of the least understood  
theoretically.

        Facts are observations; hypotheses are attempts at explaining those  
observations; theories are hypotheses that have withstood  
experimental scrutiny and have successfully predicted other  
observations.

        Of all the forces in nature, only gravity doesn't fit with the  
others. It is far from understood, and elaborate proposals such as  
string theory and various interesting, multi-dimensional geometries  
have been proposed in order to unify gravitational force will all  
others, but so far nothing has satisfactorily explained what is going  
on.
