The Common Controls library is great. The progress bar alone is worth it (*much* better than the MS Status Bar ActiveX control).
If you plan to use the OutlookUI, iirc it requires the CommonControls library. I will likely purchase, but I'll wait as long as I can so I can get the best out of my trial period plus the 30-day subscription period(I can't justify $100 more for a year's worth of upgrades-- $20-30 probably, but not $100). Anyone try ARG's common controls library? He's basically implemented the common controls without use of ActiveX, which is a benefit for distribution purposes, plus it looks like his interfaces are better than the ActiveX counterparts... At only $35, I'm thinking of buying that too. Lastly, he's recently released an OutlookUI add-on for the CommandBars library. There's not much on the site other than a short announcement and the sample download. It looks expensive(only the $200 1 year option), but it implements the Outlook bar that many other command bar libraries implement(such as BCG Control Bars, which I use in VC++). I haven't decided if I want this sort of interface in my new application yet, but I may. I already ship one application(non-VFP) with this sort of design, and I think it might be a little too subtle(at least the way I implemented it in Overseer(http://www.overseer-network-monitor.com/images/screenshots/overseer .png))... -- Derek _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox@leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
