I'm a fan of the Motorola Accompli 009 but it does a lot more than just the phone portion - was mondo cool for texting, and worked on any SIM card in Singapore , Germany, and the UK, plus TMobile (regular account) in the USA. The big feature you need is 'sim card', as all of the carriers in Europe and the UK use a sim card.
