Just back from Thanksgiving vacation, anyway, I must be the fanatic because I regard Paul's writings in this sense as canonical (I think the R. Catholic church does too) and being canonical represents the word of God. But discussion is pointless if you believe the tenets of 'higher criticism' or that part of the Bible (as recognized by the R. Catholic church or protestants) can be freely disregarded as opinion.
