My company has an opening for a print software gear head. You will be controlling the printjobs that we create for sending to both DocUTech and NextPress printers. Knowledge of Postscript and PDF is needed. We have 21 DocUTechs on site and 6 NextPress. We are opening up two more sites over next 2-3 years.
Company pays great in benefits (90% of medical) Cost of living is very low. A 3000 sq ft house could cost between 120,000 to 450,000 depending on the neighborhood. Will go public probably tomorrow? *Specific Responsibilities* * * · Experience with software development for web and native platforms using C, C++, C# or Java and a formal revision control system in a team environment, facility with scripting languages and database tools. · General expert knowledge in print technologies · Color workflows, color workflow tools, color Science · PDF workflows, PDF workflow tools, PDF format · Postscript workflows, PS workflow tools, PS language · JDF workflows, JDF workflow tools and JDF enabled devices, JDF Spec · Windows and Mac print driver technologies and platform printing models. · Keep up to date on latest print technology trends, especially with regard to printing standards (JDF etc), open source offerings(PS, PDF, workflow, preflight), Windows XPS, Print-on-Demand technologies, retail preflight tools and printing device interface trends. · Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment is also desirable. The kind of experience where you solved problems and where the goal was to automate every possible work practice that should have been automated and you loved doing it. 1. Implementation · Use expertise in print technologies to implement software tools and processes for production improvements in quality, efficiency and reliability. · Use expertise in print technologies to implement color workflows, PDF workflows, JDF workflows and JDF devices. · Work with chief architect on external APIs to support a Mimeo web service using printing and web standards. 2.
