Maybe it would. Maybe it wouldn't. You're too hypothetical here.

For example, the wxWidgets platform provides cross-platform GUI
widgets. Under the hood, the application uses the native facilities to
produce an application that uses the widgets and themes and colors and
built-in dialogs of each platform. So rather than "maybe"
compromising, you are providing a richer platform.
