I think that your missing the primary point here. Your life is still in your hands. No matter where you end up you will still have the love of God. Just like death where people come across with the notion that God hates them because their health is failing and the day to day experience is miserable. People think that if they are loved by God then they should not be treated like that. God was able to try Moses and Arron and keep them from the Promised Land. David was tested in battle and his psalms let us know that life was not a box of chocolates. For his largest statement He list his Son die on a cross for us. Unfortunately mankind cannot see far enough past their own finger tips.
