I have an application which allows the people in the clinic know when
someone 'checks in' out front in the waiting area on a computer that is
running in a kiosk mode -- kinda, not really an IE kiosk.

Anyway, the techs in the back run the main check screen (which is
essentially a form with a grid on it that takes a peek at the checkin
table every 60 seconds via a forced refresh thru a timer control)
minimized. What they want now is a pop-up window to let them know if a
new entry appears on the grid.

Any ideas on how to do that while minimized? I bet it is simple and I
just can't get hands around for being to simple...
