Paul, do you have the ability to do a repair installation from the control
panel for this program? If so, it's worth a try.  I was able fix similar
conflicts on my machine, but that was caused by having the pro and the
reader versions installed (reader last) and the installation of the reader
caused several quirks on both the reader and the pro versions of Acrobat. I
needed the pro more so than the reader so I uninstalled the reader and
"repair installed" the pro version from the control panel.
