        Wow! Three years already?

        As Bill mentioned, I followed him through this ordeal with his  
regular updates, and it was both chilling and amazing to observe him  
going through the process of surgery and recovery. It was especially  
poignant for me, as I've had two major facial traumas (hard to believe  
I'm still a handsome devil!) both of which involved swelling, loss of  
sensation, greatly limited ability to eat - all the things he was  
experiencing.

        Gee, and I thought this story would have had a happy ending!  ;-)
