This is what we do. The link is very complex and not something that anyone 
could guess. We encrypt to a self extracting exe.
The passphrase is given by voice over the phone, fax or some unrelated method. 
The file is removed from the web server as soon as 
we get confirmation that the client has it. This is very clean and it gives you 
total control. There is no limitation on the type 
or size of attachment. Also, you don't clog up your email backup with large 
attachments.

I do that too.....it gets to the client quicker without the bulk of the
attachment (which may be a deal-breaker in some instances).
