That is exactly the problem: in the congested streets of any city trucks are 
filled up and then make short stops from one point to the next. They have to 
carry all the dead weight between each delivery. Usually they don't shut off 
the engine either. My guess is that trucks waste 100 times the energy 
expended by one bicycle delivering the same quantity.
