Absolutely - and sucked at whatever other language they've jumped on.
>From a language standpoint, no language, baring the assembler, of course
<s> even comes close to the sheer depth and breadth of the language.
VFP's language has been worked out over many, many years, and despite
the arcane stuff kept for backwards compatibility is an extremely rich
language that, when all else fails, can be used to extend itself - and
that, by itself, addresses any/all real concerns about it's shortcomings
(write your own functions!).

Programming doesn't come natural to people. Thinking in terms of what it
takes to create truly useful software, no matter the language. Things so
elementary as breaking things down into
functions/procedures/program/screens/etc., and giving entities truly
useful names - little things like that, take a lot of practice to
master, and I daresay there's no shortage of people who, after years and
years, still can't get it right.

So what happens is Joe NewBie comes along, can't get anything to work,
gets confused, and out of frustration curses the tool, whichever it is.
This creates a problem for the language's image, whichever language it
is, when Joe NewBie, the loudmouth with plenty of time to pound away his
frustration on forums and influence others who might have otherwise been
interested turn away. As we've seen with our own pea-brain chatterboxes,
they too often get away with their ignorant-stupid stuff because we're
too busy building to waste our precious time on them.

Such is life.
