I have been using Craig Boyd's "vfpexmapi.fll" to send emails from my Purchase Order System with great success. It sends a message with purchase order in "PDF" format attached, to the factories in India or China. At the moment the message asks for confirmation of the Purchase Order being received. The emails are sent to the Managing Director and other staff as well so the message goes to them also.
