Sure, and in fact, I still use SEEK all the time on the vfp 
cursors....but I left SET RELATION behind many years ago.

I didn't mean to convey that you had to dump xBase altogether; indeed, 
as you said, they're very powerful commands.  You just need to work in 
the "recordset" (client/server) mentality instead of direct table access.
