Technically, you may be right, Kristyne, but do you really think early Ds like Jefferson would have anything to do with the present day D party? Keep in mind that Jefferson said that government governs best that governs least. The 2nd amendment was put there so citizens could protect themselves from the government... and that is why it's still needed.
